MIMAW is an ‘Ideas-based’ design and making studio. We operate in the intersection of craft, design and technology.

- re-imagining memories, everyday objects & experiences

MIMAW is an ‘Ideas-based’ design and making studio operating in the intersection of craft, design and technology.  As of early 2016, MIMAW is currently in a state of transition.  What started out as a 3d printing heavily-concentrated studio, is now evolving in the exploration of different materials, mediums and details in conjunction with emerging technologies.  At its core, it is creatively and imaginatively steered by Vei Tan and materially challenged and detailed by Patrick Macasaet.  We continue the attitude of creating pieces that embed function, technique and play inspired by our studio’s approach of exaggerating and re-imagining memories, everyday objects and experiences.

Merging the familiar with the unfamiliar and making the generic the exception.

'Craft Magic'

'Craft Magic' - Come take a journey with us on our blog on what we are up to,  We love making things from start to finish (literally), from small things to big, from possible to impossible (sometimes).  It covers all fun, failure and some fine moments.

Story telling

We always embrace the notion that every piece has a story and an idea as a departure point versus producing pieces for the sake of 'making'. TABA is now expanding to the point that it has become a world of its own.  And it all starts from here!
